Summer 2013 Kimonomachi Yukata
Well, I waited until this free international shipping campaign on Rakuten to buy a yukata from the new summer collection by Kimonomachi. I really had many that I liked, but I decided to go with the one most different from the yukata I already own. I picked the orange morning glory yukata with a blue reversible obi (one side is a whirlpool design; the other is goldfish). I also got a cream colored bag and light green geta (for a different yukata), along with a random obikazari. I can't wait til it all arrives!!

Recent Buys and Assembling Maiko Henshin
I decided recently that in addition to my geiko henshin (complete, but not debuted), I would also like to attempt a maiko henshin. So I began to assemble to pieces I will need. I have a red obiage, but it's pretty plain, so I decided to purchase an inexpensive one from Shinei and paint the designs myself. I got this type that they've had for a while. It was only $4, so I don't feel bad about adding to the design to make it more "maiko".
I also purchased a wide vintage obijime, which I may or may not use for the henshin.
These are from a few weeks ago, but I never posted them. The yellow shibori obiage is for my red furisode, but the orange and purple obiage is just because I liked it. =)
I have literally being watching this bag for YEARS. It was discounted steeply as it was the last one, so I snatched it!
Lastly, the coup de gras! A pre-tied darari style obi from Ichiroya. I've been eyeing it for weeks, but I went on ahead and got it tonight.

Tall Blue Yukata (with mystery motif!), Zentsuu Obi, and Red Kinchaku
I saw this super tall (176 cm) blue yukata online last night, and of course, I could not resist!
I can tell that the dangling plants are either fuji or yanagi (not quite sure which, but I am leaning toward yanagi). The other flower (maybe peony?) I cannot quite tell since the design style is very fuzzy around the edges. If you know, tell me please!
I also bought a zentsuu fukuro obi to (hopefully) use for my upcoming geiko henshin. I love it's coppery color!
And last, but not least, I won this red kinchaku on eBay. I really wanted it because it has a fall motif, unlike my other 2 kinchaku. I was hoping it would be longer than the others, but that will just have to wait.

New Kinchaku!

Enough? NEVER!
As if I did not already have enough kimono things! I could not resist all of these things on eBay and RyuJapan!

The first buy was a yellow and dragonfly kinchaku bag from Ryu. It matches my yukata fairly well, but I love that butter-yellow color, and I will MAKE it match some of my other things. :)

The next was a red and black hakata nagoya obi from Ryu's eBay store. It might be a little short for me, but I can fudge things pretty well most of the time.

Then, I got this wine red (really sort of purple) colored obi from Kimono-Bestbuy. I love the white peonies on it. They totally pop out at you!

The last one is also from Kimono-Bestbuy. This one I bought to match my orange tsukesage. That kimono has green, yellow, red, and gold accents, and I think it will match nicely. And I love the modern woven squares on it.
